Bread Fish, Fire & Rescue is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Public Charity whose members are active and retired Firefighters, Officers, Veterans, Teachers, Hotshots, & Smokejumpers.
Our NGO is a highly adaptive, autonomous team with a broad range of specialized skills. Scalable and adaptable to the size and complexity of any task, our team possesses a “Can Do” attitude and is composed of a force of Doers who excel at problem-solving to accomplish the mission.
Protection of critical infrastructure, residential homes, structures, and utilities. Our mission strategically advances the protection and preparedness of wildfire threatened communities across California while increasing safety for the public and first responders.
We prioritize disadvantaged/ low-income communities in the surrounding cities of Los Angeles, Riverside, Ventura & Orange Counties by employing local youth residents on our Fire Prevention/ Hazardous Fuels Mitigation Crews. We recruit, train, and employ members from the very same communities these projects are meant to protect. Our target groups are CA youth Cadets, justice-involved youth, Veterans, and former California Conservation Corps members who have timed out of the CCC program. Many of which already have experience and training from the US Forest Service, CAL FIRE, and the military.
